A letter can start a conversation, not finish the sale

On Todd Jensen’s Snoball Effect marketing playbook, Matt describes MovingLetters.ai as a handwritten-letter company that can also source fresh listing and under-contract data. The team prepares the design and uses pen on paper rather than presenting the piece as ordinary printed mail. In one example, a mover uses a wedding photo with his spouse and dogs on the front of a card. The point is not that every owner needs a wedding photo: a real personal story can show who is behind a local moving company more vividly than another truck image.

Todd and Matt also consider how a letter fits into a longer customer journey. Matt recounts one customer who read a letter, checked the company’s Google reviews and then called. That is an anecdote, not evidence that the letter alone caused the booking or that the same sequence will work for other movers. Later they discuss AI and the opportunity to use new tools without flattening the human connection. For an operator, the episode offers a practical balance: make the outreach distinct, but ensure the reviews, response and service that follow can support the impression it creates.

For moving-company operators

Make one mail piece unmistakably yours, then test the entire path from opening the letter to checking reviews and getting a human response.
